Social Studies Intervention!
Social Studies Intervention is intended to be a dual-purpose class...if students have work they need to work on from other classes (homework, projects, etc.), they may use that time to complete it.
If they are struggling on an assignment or topic, students also have a chance to seek help from a teacher in a subject area, if it's out of my area of expertise.

What if I am caught up on work?
So glad you asked!
Students that are caught up (or who have been identified as needing additional help) also have the opportunity to expand their Social Studies knowledge.
We have been using a very cool video series called CNN Student News, that is produced on a daily basis and gives kids a quick look at current news stories.
If students would like to stay current, there is a website with the videos, as well as a few daily questions related to the topics in the video.
The sheets are to inform students and help them stay current with world events, but should not be particularly stressful. If there are a few "blanks" after watching the video, students can use the transcript or even use it as an opportunity to research the topic further on the Internet.
Please follow the directions below to find the appropriate day's video / questions.
