6th Grade Final Exam!
(Due day of exam…Thursday, 6-5-14)
Directions: As we’ve discussed in class, the purpose of a final exam is to show the teacher that you have learned the material that has been studied in the class.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to choose a way to show Mr. Haak that you have learned about South America this marking period. You are being given “creative license,” which means you are quite free to choose how you want to do that…we brainstormed several possibilities last week in class:
--Reflecting about prior projects
--Explain IN DETAIL what you learned in each of the projects from this marking period…how did each
project help you learn about that part of South America?
--Pantanal Wetlands animals project
--Andean Countries Guidebook
--In order to be eligible for this project, you need to have successfully completed both projects already!
--5 paragraph essay
--Must include information from Ch. 8 – Brazil & Its Neighbors & Ch. 9 – The Andean Countries
--Could choose to write a fictional story (maybe as a tour guide / time traveler?)
--Pamphlet / Booklet
--Similar to the Andean Guidebook, but includes a country from Ch. 8 & Ch. 9 (must be a different
country than the one you did in the Andean Guidebook project)

--Vocabulary Project
--Choose 5-7 vocabulary words and research them further than the textbook...
--Write IN DEPTH descriptions of each vocabulary word, with one (preferably more) pictures of each
--Past / Present / Future of South America
--Find a creative way (as a time traveler?) to show your knowledge of:
--the history of South America (focus on the Incans?)
--the current human & physical (natural) characteristics of South America (by regions?)
--what do you believe the future may hold for South America?
--Think of another project? -- Please get Mr. Haak’s OK before starting the project, so he can help you
